Originally built as the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) Station in 1885-87, the Harrisburg Transportation Center was renovated by the
Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority from 1982 to 1986. It is on the National Registry of Historic Places.
From time to time displays of historic railroad photos grace the platform.
The Pennsylvania-built, historic, GG-I locomotive is on permanent display at track level.
